Had two internships in China. Will it make me look like an international student and decrease my chances?
Hi,
I recently went to have my resume reviewed by a career counselor at my school, and was told that since I interned in China, I will look like an international student and this might decrease my chances with firms who aren't looking for international students.
He suggested I include something along the lines of "Residency: USA" to my header. Should I do this? I haven't seen any other resumes with this.
.
My Cantonese friend would have said "on9" had he read this
don't add that. It looks retarded. Instead, you should have a current physical address on the top. That should imply that you are a US resident.
ditto RonaldBacon. if you do that it will only bring up questions. i'm a white boy from texas who has had internships in china as well, you just need enough other stuff on there to prove your american-ness, as bad as it sounds. pm me if you wanna share where you interned. why don't you wanna work in apac?
Thanks for the replies. That's exactly what I thought. The idea of putting that just looked silly when I already have my physical address on there.
And lone star state, I am open to working in apac, but I want to have some more experience in the states first.
