Has anyone ever asked for an Office Visit/Tour?
I recently had an informational phone interview with an Associate from a BB in NYC. I was connected to the Associate through a Women's diversity event. The conversation went well. I live in CA but will fly to NYC for the holidays. Do you think it is worth to ask for an office visit/tour?
I am an MBA student applying for an ER SA role. I haven't submitted my application yet.
Anyone ever asked for an office visit or tour? Was it helpful in any way?
Thanks for your input.
Don't word it like that. Mention how you'll be in NY from XX to XX date and ask if they'd like to meet up for coffee. If they're really enthusiastic they might bring you up to the offices but probably not. Asking for an office tour is asking way too much of their time/energy.
I would definitely mention that you are going to be in the area and would love to stop by and say hi if they're free. If they like you, they will take the opportunity to introduce you to more people which is always helpful.
Thanks for your input!
Asking for an office tour makes it sound like something you would do during career day in high school. Ask if they know any colleagues that would help give you more perspective on the business. If they like you they should be able to get you in touch with some of their coworkers or fellow alumni who work on the street.
