First Round Interview at Five Rings Capital LLC?

Hi. I'm a junior and received a first round 20-30min phone screening trading interview at Five Rings Capital LLC for their summer internship. Can anyone give me some insight as to how the interview might go? The founder is from Jane Street Capital I believe, so I wonder if the interview will be as hard as I've heard Jane Street interviews are.

Thanks a lot!

Five Rings is a proprietary trading firm that prides itself on an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment. Our users shared that this is a great place to work and that the interview questions are highly technical.

lightforce2:
I had an in-person with them through my school for their summer internship, and it was entirely technical. They legitimately didn't ask anything else. Very similar to a Jane Street interview, but possibly more technical.

Zalfor:
I went through the whole interview process for FT.

It is exactly like a JSC interview in terms of technical questions. there are many JSC questions, so look them up there. They also ask some personal questions as well, like why you want to do trading, etc.

To give u background, it is created by Jason McCarthy, an Ex-Partner at JSC, and they have around ~10-20 employees.

I have great respect for the firm and I think they are a great group to be part of.

No market questions, almost no prop shops will ask u about market questions.

User @daikonhead" shared details about compensation for internships:

daikonhead:
Just got an offer, and since this question wasn't answered, I wanted to let y'all know that for a programming internship, compensation is indeed $2000 per week.

lol okay. I'm still looking for serious responses. Five Rings Capital is a prop shop started by a former MIT grad who left Jane Street. They're paying $2k/week for the summer internship, so spots should be competitive.

Thanks alot for the responses Zalfor and lightforce2! May I ask if during the first round phone screening, you were asked those personal questions? I always thought it would be 30 minutes of nothing but technical questions, and then personal questions come up in the later rounds.

Ok. For internships someone previously said its 2K/week, or 100K annualized. For full time, it is 100K base, and then factoring in a bonus of 100K (upper end), its 200K in total. I've heard all information second hand, so take it with a grain of salt.

So I stumbled upon this thread back in February when I had an interview with Five Rings. Just got an offer, and since this question wasn't answered, I wanted to let y'all know that for a programming internship, compensation is indeed $2000 per week.

These #s seem a little high. I've heard 100k base (slightly rounded up, more like 90ish) but the 100K bonus is unheard of. I could be wrong but I had thought it to be around 30K.

I could be wrong-so someone with more concrete info feel free to chime in.

Anyway OP I went through the whole interview process. Very similar to JSC. PM me for details if you want

I had many interviews with them, and ultimately a job offer which didn't work out. I'm not going to say the questions (although I know them well). Practice math questions, probability, bayes theorem, etc. Look at Jane Street problems.
