Nothing here, and none of my three buddies who applied did either... Hopefully they aren't using the 80% of invites sent on the first date figure they used last year...
Yeah, last year it was closer to 90% in the first wave. Fingers crossed that this year is more balanced / tilted towards Wave 2 (maybe due to greater applicant volume as they've made the application easier to finish).
Nothing here either (working applicant). Have some friends with pretty stacked resume's that also have heard nothing - don't know if that's a good or a bad thing for those of us hoping to hear next week.
nothing here either. i have a good resume, good test scores, target school, etc. working with a consultant...she said at her firm, none of her clients with a PE/IB background got an invite. i know one person on this site did, but none of my friends w/ a finance background got the invite either. fingers crossed for next week
I know of someone who got one, but we're international. Maybe they did international first so they could set up the off-campus interviews or something...
I don't know if I'd read too much into the industry/location background. Dee has stated numerous times that there is no distinct breakup of who is invited when. What I have noticed is that in previous years, they have been much more explicit that most (the majority) of invites will go out on the first date, while this year they seem to have implied that there might be more even of a breakup between the dates.
Guess we'll all just have to wait and see next week. Definitely seems like a lot of uber qualified people haven't gotten invites (not including myself in that category), but it is HBS, so I guess that sorta thing happens.
My gut says they must have changed the split in the number of invites. For one, they switched from three notification days last year to two this year, so there is already a major difference. I know of four IB>PE guys that all went to Ivies, crushed GMAT, etc., and none got an invite. If 90% of the invites went out, I would be shocked if not a single one from that group got the call.
anyone else going thru wild swings in confidence? one day i know i'll get into one of the elite schools, the next day i feel like i have no chance. havent felt this insecure since undergrad IB recruiting
I think it's made worse by the fact that HBS is first. Personally, when I was deciding where to apply, I knew that HBS was a long shot, but figured I'd give it a go and see what happened. Now that it's the first of five schools that I'm hearing from, and might not get an interview, it throws a wrinkle into my outlook, even though I really would not have been surprised a month ago if you told me I wouldn't get one.
Must have misread this the first time, but 7/9 (78%) with more invites to come is discouraging? Even if we go by last year's invite percentages, which had around an 80/20 split between the two invite dates, that would mean that everyone on that list would get an invite. As I stated, I think that signs this year are pointing to a more even split betwen the two invite dates, which means there are strong odds that all these people will get invites.
Must be missing how that's discouraging, especially when we don't even know their stats.

Good luck to those still waiting.
Just another data point -- I know 8 other IB>PE people who applied in R1, and 6 of them got interview invites on Wednesday.
man... that's discouraging.

Where else did you apply?
that is discouraging...mega funds? mid-market?

6/6 megafund applicants (7/7 if I count myself) 0/2 mid-market applicants
.
HBS, Wharton, Columbia, Sloan, and Tuck. Will probably add on two more if I strike out R1.
seamless, how many interview spots were up for grabs on the site?
It wasn't possible to see how many spots were available per time slot, so I don't think anybody outside the admissions office knows the answer.
6/6 megafund applicants 1/3 mid-market applicants
Anyone today? Family member is waiting to hear, didn't hear anything last week
unfortunately my application status was updated to denied. have not received an email though.
i just got dinged too... damn
did not receive an email either
DENIED
Early release for my family member as well...no email
I got deferred to Round 2.....so that's sort of good news?
haha great screen name, and yeah i'd consider that good news
I haven't heard of a single person getting into HBS this wave. Rough. And yeah, deferred also.
