Headhunters for Sales and Trading?
Disclaimer: I already tried the search function. Now...
I have heard a lot about headhunters contacting <span><a href="/finance-dictionary/what-is-investment-banking-division-IBD"><abbr>IBD</abbr></a></span> analysts to try to fill Associate roles in <abbr>PE</abbr>. How does headhunting work for market makers at a <span><a href="/finance-dictionary/what-is-the-bulge-bracket-BB"><abbr>BB</abbr></a></span> trying to move to a <span><a href="/finance-dictionary/what-is-a-hedge-fund-HF"><abbr>HF</abbr></a></span>? If you could lend some insight that would be awesome. Thanks!
Interested in this.
Also interested in any headhunters that would be interested in taking a look at my resume.
PM me.
There are a ton of them, its not dissimilar from banking.
Don't they just call you up randomly..? It's their job to find you, if I'm not mistaken.
There is a huge difference befor a recruiter and a head hunter.
A head hunter finds you because you are a rainmaker.
Fair enough. Does anyone know of any recruiting agencies that are well regarded in S&T? In before google it.
They'll end up contacting you usually, but they don't only get in touch with senior people.
can someone post a few names here? thanks
So whatever happen to this thread?
yea but a good head hunter will storm your village at night and cut your head off with a ceremonial knife...so idk how it works for S&T
Ok i'll start.
Glocap
Some jobs for S&T background but over 50% still goes to IB-ers
Best Sales and Trading recruiters/headhunters in NYC (Originally Posted: 08/13/2013)
Hello,
I'm currently trying to get into sales and trading on the sell side. Mainly sales. I was hoping to find a few recruiters to reach out to. Can anyone suggest a few reputable ones. Thank you
They are flooded with resumes of experienced sales and traders and actually might filter you out in favor of a stronger candidate they know. Would recommend you network directly with key insiders at the banks/brokers.
Fixed Income Sales and Trading Headhunters (Originally Posted: 03/18/2012)
I was wondering if Headhunters usually reach out to junior people within Sales and Trading.. I work in structuring at BB and haven't really seen people getting calls from headhunters..
whats the best way to get in touch with head hunters for open positions in fixed income and PE shops?
Is it common practice for S&T not get as much exposure?
Finally - can anyone send me some names of headhunters I can reach out too?
Thanks so much for the help!

trading headhunters? (Originally Posted: 07/28/2010)
Does anyone have any head hunters for trading? I've got 2 yrs of experience trading european and US fixed income. mostly futures but some swaps and cash as well. I work for a top market maker in Chicago, but i'd like to move to a bank or hedge fund so I can get more exposure to OTC stuff, muni's, agency's and all that good stuff that locals in Chicago don't really trade. Thanks
a bit out of date, but check out our recruiter database: http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/page/wso-recruiter-database

Headhunters for Entry-level S&T positions? (Originally Posted: 12/08/2012)
Hi,
I'm currently in a tough spot and I would like to utilize every possibility possible. I just graduated and I don't think I qualify for the S&T analyst programs. I think my only way to obtain an analyst/entry-level S&T position is either through networking or headhunters. Do you think there are headhunters in NYC that place new graduates in entry-level S&T positions?
Thanks.
Headhunters are almost always primarily involved in mid and late career jobs.

Do junior people on trading desks (prop and flow) get headhunted like IBD analysts? Is this how traders move to hedge funds in general?
