Good question. I'm wondering the same thing. I've been told that people in your company might be 'scouting' around on the behalf of headhunters and that they might drop the names of top performers. I think these 'scouts' get some kind of fee for doing this. This is what I've heard, don't know for sure though...

 

Some will cold call, meet and based on meetigns screen good candidates. The better ones relu on someone who has used them to move jobs to refer a small number of candidates at their old bank they think are good.

I would think that, especially at the analyst level where it's pretty much a plug-and-play role, that it is really more a matter of simply having a decent resume and proving that you can interview fairly well.
