Howdy. I found out about this forum through some typical stumbling through the Internet and I figured the people here would know plenty. I went to an Ivy League school as recently as a year ago, but never knew how to take advantage of it, and never got a proper internship, or a job offer. Regardless of whether I can actually get a full-time, living-pay job or not, I plan on heading back to school (business school or otherwise...not sure yet) within the next two or three years in order to get plenty of accounting coursework and go that career route. I only ever did one course of accounting and finance each and that was just a poor decision on my part.
Being that you graduated from an ivy league school about a year ago I think you can do a lot by just networking and reading guides about finance and excel.
I don't think it's necessary for you to go for bschool yet unless nothing works out.
Yeah. That's honestly what I'm doing now pretty much. You'd be surprised at how unresponsive most alumni really are, but I'm doing what I can. The lack of experience in any part of the industry is a killer, but whatever.
If I'm not working by the end of the year, I'll seriously consider school.
