Help - Informal Meeting with Company President Tomorrow
Hi Guys,
I am a recent graduate that just got back home after travelling Asia for an extended period of time. Prior to leaving I networked extensively within the real estate investment industry in my city and made some very significant progress. When I arrived home I got back in touch with my contacts and have made some additional progress. I have met several REIB MDs, President and founders of REPE firms and several other senior executives.
The majority have been extremely helpful and have offered to put me in touch with additional people at other companies. I have never directly asked for a job, however, some have clearly realized my end goal is to land a position. Some guys have mentioned either they are not currently hiring or that they would be looking for someone with a few years of IB or real estate experience prior to working at their firm as they don't have the resources to train new employees.
That being said, I have recently been put in touch with the president of a large real estate fund and set up a meeting for tomorrow. As I was quickly going over their website while preparing for the meeting and noticed they just posted an analyst position today. My qualifications and experience fit the job description and this would essentially be my ideal job.
Any suggestions on how to handle the meeting knowing the company is looking for an analyst for immediate hire? I am very tempted to start the meeting as usual then closer to the end bring up the position and discuss how I would be a great candidate.
Do you guys think that is the best strategy and does anyone have any experience having an informal meeting with a senior executive knowing the company is looking to hire?
