Helpful to own firm's mutual fund in interview?
I plan to interview for an ER internship at a buy-side firm this coming fall. Would holding a company's mutual fund in the investment style I prefer be helpful when discussing personal holdings?

Career Resources
Not really. If they are looking for investment professionals to research stocks for a mutual fund, they want you to hold stocks. Telling them you own their mutual fund will just look like you are kissing ass
Hedgefundhopeful is right. That said, having some idea of what their top positions are, and what they say about the firm's investment strategy, can be quite helpful in interviewing.
Did you buy their mutual fund to impress during the interview or is it just a coincidence?
If just it's a coincidence that opens up plenty of opportunity. Talk about about why you originally purchased the fund, what made it stand out, why you like the fund's investment style. Having good knowledge about a particular fund's strategy, philosophy, holdings, history, etc will definitely help you stand out.
