Heya! New here! (Also, I need advice)

Hi there!
My name is Marcus. I've more and more become very fascinated with the financial industry. Finding myself going on and on with friends for hours discussing how it all works.

So, I've decided to begin pursuing a career in finance.
My main issue is.... I have no idea where to start. I have no experience in any financial type job.
I've been a hairstylist for around 10 years and only have a high school education.
I really don't have the time, resources, or money to be going back to college, but I have had many clients who work in finance tell me the same thing. "School is not necessary."
Is this true? I've been told that being a very social/ friendly person, and also being extremely detailed and hard working are the main keys to a finance career.
Also, if this IS true...where would be a good place to start? Having no finance job experience and trying to get a starting job seem out of reach and near to impossible.

What would be some good recommendations and advice?
