High school finance club ideas?

Hey guys,

I'm only in high school right now so I know there aren't many places on the site that I'd really be able to contribute to, but I want to start a finance club at my high school. We have a DECA business club which hasn't really taken off, but I'd like to do something investing/trading related, as there is some interest at my school in the stock market. All of you being in finance, could you help me in thinking of activities to keep the club afloat with? I already have virtual trading in mind, but anything else?

Thanks in advance

PS- Sorry if this is in the wrong section of the forums, I didn't know what would be the best fit for it.

Do you go to a public high school or private? Try to get some seed money from the town or from alumni and start a small fund that you can manage. Trading a fake portfolio is fine, but it's not nearly the same. I found that at my school, no one put nearly as much effort in managing a fake portfolio as they did a real one, so getting real money to use would be your best bet. Then from there you can hold the regular bi-weekly (or weekly) meetings, pitch buy/sell ideas, discuss recent news etc. Good luck
