Superday Traveling Questions
Hey monkeys,
I haven't had to attend a superday on the east coast as of yet, so I'm not sure how this goes, as most of my interviews have been in LA.
Should I be wearing a suit on the plane? Will any employees even be seeing me prior to making it to the hotel?
Also, if the interview is in a couple weeks time, when can I expect HR to be emailing me for booking/accommodations ? Is it usually the week prior or should I give them a call?
Thanks for taking the time to read this, I'd really appreciate some guidance.
I've flown to some superdays before and HR takes care of all of the travel planning and will email it to you, timelines differed as to when I received this. If it's a week prior to the superday and you haven't heard anything then I would consider reaching back out.
As far as who will see you, the answer is no one. No one will know who you are on the plane or when you arrive at the hotel. The hotel staff may provide you with a folder containing a physical copy of your schedule/interviewers, but they are unaffiliated with the bank. There was one time where a travel company picked up multiple candidates at the same time from the airport, but no one will be already wearing a suit unless they had a different superday that morning and were in a hurry.
If I were you I might try to plan ahead for the jet lag though.
Logistics for traveling to Superday? (From West Coast headed to East Coast) (Originally Posted: 09/30/2017)
Do I bring a small travel bag my suit, etc? They're paying for my accommodation, but as far as I know, it's only for the evening before the superday. So, if I bring a bag with a change of clothes, etc. am I expected to bring that with me to my interview? Won't that look unprofessional?
not at all. Your interviewer will never see it since you can leave your stuff in the lobby or a closet if they have one. Pack light. Only what you need for one night. Look into a weekender bag especially one that has a compartment for your suit.
If you are interviewing near hotels, you can ask them to check your bags for you. Just tip the bell hop when you pick your items up. Good Luck.
How far ahead should travel get booked before superday? (Originally Posted: 10/17/2016)
So I am supposed to have a superday this Wednesday (Monday today) and HR totally hadn't followed up with me on travel yet. I have sent an email earlier this morning and got no response -- Should I call and make sure?
This is honestly my last resort since I rly don't want to mess up with HR

Yes, don't be afraid to call--you don't want to lose this opportunity!
