How hard is it to go from a financial controller role to MO?

I was wondering if someone was lumped into back office accounting, in a Financial controller role how hard is it to move around?

I understand finance guys get barely any exposure to other areas but is it still possible to move from accounting into Risk or something like corporate treasury? hell is it even possible to move to ops from finance?

It is definitely possible. Before I made my way to front office, I spent 5 years working an assortment of back office jobs in operations and treasury. Same thing applies as any other job search, network and try to gain the skills necessary for the position through self study. Also, try and position your professional experience to fill most of the generic job requirements (self-starter, ability to meet deadlines, etc.). Hope this helps.

It's tough, but it's possible to land interviews with aggressive networking. I'm currently in BB BO and have landed 3 FO interviews in the past two months, just need to really have a compelling story as well as knowing your technicals/following the market. Having CFA L1 completed has also given me additional credibility when reaching out to FO people. Moving out of the BO is tough - you need to cast an extremely wide net and have resilience because you will face rejection and doubt, but if you actually take the time to network and stay informed you will prevail in the end. Best of luck to you!
