How is Credit Suisse viewed on the street?
I have an interview coming up at Credit Suisse within the Asset Management division. I was wondering how CS ranks compared to Goldman, JP Morgan, and Morgan Stanley. Are they competitive comp wise? How are they viewed overall in the wall street community?
Which arm within AM?
Are you going to drop the interview if it isn't in line with your perceptions of desired prestige?
No definitely not. I'm actually very excited to interview there. The position is within Asset Management finance. I am just curious how competitive they are compared to other firms and if they offer similar benefits.
Asset Management finance? So back/middle office? Who cares then.
You still didn't answer his question lol he meant if it was pwm or something else
Asset Management Finance (AMF) is a division within AM at CS. CS acquired AMF in 2008. The position is in Alternative Investments.
They're horrible for you, give the interview spot to another kid.
AMF is a front office team. No worries, kid. btw, what kind of background are you from? IBD? MBA?

I've had internships in IB and have been working in AM at a small firm for about 2 years now.
If you're working AM at a no-name firm then its a no-brainer. Its obviously a step up.
TAKE IT or give it to me. I would kill for a BB job
AMF isn't GSAM but if it's really a problem for you, then rock out with your cock out and trade up when you can.
Credit Suisse? never heard of it. sounds like a swiss credit card
+1.
Skip the interview, it won't be as fun as Jefferies' NYC Healthcare team and BOAML HK is hiring!!
I received a call from Goldman yesterday and I also have an upcoming interview with GSAM. I'm looking forward to both interviews. I appreciate your input guys.
Credit Suisse isn't doing so well these days, look at the league table and see where they stand.
Realistically, CS is a top ten bank and it will be a big step up from your small shop.
What type of drug testing do they have?

They don't really have drug testing, just stupid testing. Applying for a job that will start in the next month or two? DON'T DO DRUGS UNTIL THEN. All that weed/coke really did blow a hole in your brain.
Stupid testing? All reputable banks do drug tests including CS.
this thread went downhill real fast
Well the thread was a pretty shit topic to begin with so we didn't have much farther to fall till we hit rock bottom.

Credit Suisse HK Reputation/Groups (Originally Posted: 01/18/2015)
Hey I just got a SA offer from CS HK IBD and a S&T position for another BB in HK. While I am slightly more interested in IBD, I just wanted to know how CS is regarded in HK. How do they rank against their peers? What are there best groups? I appreciate your input very, very much
Bump
From what I know from 2 years ago, they have a solid FIG and TMT. Cannot confirm this but they cut analysts and associates right before the bonuses came out so pissed off a lot of people. But again, this was 2 years ago so maybe anyone else can say how they are now.
They did a serious cleansing of non chinese speakers a year or 2 ago (or was at least this was the rumor in HK). Very strong SEA franchise although that might be more SG based.
Not sure how their HK franchise holds up to be honest.
Would you take CS over UBS or DB in HK?
I think CS had a very solid year in 2014 but im not sure if that's been the case all along. what's like the usual hk ranking for the BBs? my guess is that UBS, DB, CS are all about the same but i am also not very informed on BB reputation in HK

Credit Suisse Fixed Income: accepted - anyone aware of reputation? (Originally Posted: 10/07/2008)
I just got off the waiting list for an interview with them at my school! What's their reputation?
Buddy told me they will ask me what I want to do (sales vs. trading). Leaning toward sales, but what sort of exit opps can I get out of fixed income sales? Will I have to stay with that product my whole life?
