HOW ON EARTH CAN SOMEONE GET A HIGH GPA!!?!
I am honestly a very very very hard working person, studied through nights, and I still keep having Bs in my GPA around 2.93 out of 4. Every job says they want someone with high gpa because they have dedication to stay long hours, but hello!!! i did , it just didnt work with me..... How on earth can I get As. I do assignments, and somehow exams are hard... Any help????
You didn't list your class, overall gpa or anything else... How about you see a Dr? There is no secret formula to figuring out personal achievement, you should explain the situation to your Dr. and then maybe they can refer you to a psychologist/psychiatrist.
Uhhh idk what you mean. There are multiple formulas. I use:
If(professor=woman,sexytime,addy)
You're study habits are probably bad and ineffective. Staying up all night will impede your mental performance and thus should be avoided unless necessary. It sounds to me like you just stay up for the sake of staying up, but you probably piss away your time and end up unable to function effectively the next day. At least this is what I often did in high school.
There are few tips for getting good grades. Probably your problem is that you don't make perfect exams and papers. I mean, this is not because you don't know how to answer but rather you don't answer how they expect you to. If there is a question like 'please test for the null hypothesis X this regression'...
This is what you probably do: put the numbers in the formula, then use the calc. and write down the answer. This is only going to give you half of the full point.
This is what they ask you to do: write down the null and the alternative hypothesis. Write down some intuition about why you think this test has sense and is done. After that write down the theoretical formula and explain the components in it. Then, write again the same formula but with the numbers you have, get the result and write it. Finally write down the blah blah conclusion and tell the consistency of that result regarding the model you have. This is going to give you a full point.
About assignments, the same thing. They have to look as professional as possible. You have to explain each content of each theory, concept and math. model. After that do the practical part and finally draw a conclusion with intuition. Also you don't need to study all day long. In fact it's all about summing up and getting straight to the point. Don't read all the books they recommend unless one talks about wheat and the other one about aliens; many times the slides are the best friend of any student, so try to stick to that and build the extra contents around it. I think there's probably nothing else to mention.
Depends on the scale and where you live, some schools / countries / fields of study have insane grade inflation (I am looking at you, Humanistic studies in 'Murica) E.g. an Ivy league professor defined the average exam score as a B+, and went to grade people accordingly.
If you want high grades just pick the classes that are deemed easy and with high grades - nobody cares which classes you took anyway. Then learn how to prioritize your work to get high grades, it is not important what you learn, since it'll be useless when you're done anyway.
Grade inflation versus non-grade inflation.
The problem is that you are focusing on working hard, not smart. You shouldn't have to pull all nighters and spend an inordinate amount of time studying to get up to like a 3.5. You need to reevaluate your study strategies and also figure out where your weak areas are in the curricula. Also, if you're that concerned about your grades, you should be meeting with your professors on a weekly basis to go over anything that you're not 100% solid on. This will also get you in front of them and have them sympathetic to your cause. When I was in school I had a class I was struggling in, and started going to the professor after attempting to complete every single homework assignment to go over it "just to make sure I'm doing everything right" and answer every question I had. More often than not they would walk through the homework with me to tell me where I was getting everything wrong, so I had awesome grades on my homework. My completing the homework prior to going to them allowed me to retain enough to do well on the tests.
If you are still finding the exams hard after doing the same hours as other students, that indicates you are getting results which place you closer to the mean performance (ie closer to the centre of the distribution) or below the mean.
All other things being equal, that indicates the students who are getting higher marks either understand the material better than you or are consistently lucky across assessments in a given subject. These are the kids getting the As that you are not.
In material terms, life tends to award benefits to those who benefit from luck, opportunity, intelligence and/or diligence.
It sounds like you are diligent, but diligence alone is often not enough, particularly in academic work.
Life is not fair. But things could be worse for you. You could be a Darfur war orphan who has been sold into a life of juvenile male prostitution.
In the grand benchmark of life outcomes, you're closer to "Investment Banker" than you are to "Darfur war orphan being sodomised for someone else's benefit". But not close enough at the moment.
Also, avoid typing in all caps or use multiple exclamation and question marks.
Lol, surprisingly good post to a borderline-nonsensical OP.
Be honest with yourself OP: higher ed and a consequently a job that requires it might not be right for you. Contrary to contemporary social conventions, you don't need a degree to lead an intellectually and materially fulfilling life. Learn a trade - you can take home $50k+ as a 20 year old and you can be a small business owner by your mid 20s!
Ask your adviser which classes the basketball team takes, then sign up for those classes.
Lol... not bad advice.
on a serious note, switch into history.
