Feel bad for the kid at the end, obviously just doesn't get/hasn't researched the BS that is behavioral interviews (plus might be a bit aspy).

The other kid though, literally might be a robot. Get one of those AI twitterbots and give it access to WSO and it would produce that kind of interview. My fav was ~"my technical skills are unparalled...I did WallStreetPrep"

This is even funnier because that kid probably reads this website. Also, other than they why banking, they don't ask questions like the ones he was answering.

Would you go into a M&A client pitch and lead with the message "I want to advise you on this deal because I can make a lot of fees out of you?"

Probably not, although that's undoubtedly a big motivation.

So why would you tell GS that you want to work for them so you can make a load of money?

The kid's lack of empathy/ability to understand demonstrated in this video is why you would not want to put him in front of a client.

Him putting this video on youtube - that takes it to another level.

Those who can, do. Those who can't, post threads about how to do it on WSO.

After some googling I found this guy's linkedin but I'm not going to share it here since I think he is getting enough crap on him at this thread already...

To be fair, some parts of his interview are quite good and he seems like a well informed candidate. It's just the genericness that makes everything sound so pre-rehearsed and impersonal. I reckon he didn't make it past that round...

EDIT: Also he's following Apollo, TPG and Berkshire on linkedin. He's gonna use Goldman for getting to the buy-side. Gonna use some exit opzzz. What a badass!!!

This reminded me of a story a BB MD told me about recruiting. He does both recruiting for a couple of target undergraduate schools as well as MBA programs. While talking about recruiting he said, "You know, recruiting undergraduates is way better. The MBA applicants are pretty polished and generally have acceptable answers to most questions. The undergraduates, you never know what the fuck is going to come out of their mouth, it makes it way more entertaining. I asked a kid at [mid tier Ivy League School] what amortization was and he tried to explain it using the deteriorating mental health of his grand father with alzheimers and how much his leadership would be worth while leading a company."

I really really really REALLY fuckin hate this new trend of video interviews. 90% of the time I interview it becomes very conversational, I am generally an articulate and likable guy and it comes off when I speak with people. This video interview shit, however, removes that entire dynamic from the equation. I. HATE. IT.

Pfft.....at my prime, I made 9 figure bonuses.

Here's a compiled list of the comments on youtube. The video has 14 likes and 21 dislikes haha.
