How to handle this interview? Really confused....
Ok guys heres the story:
So I recently networked my way into a phone conversation with an executive at a large bank. However, he's completely disconnected with the banks operations. Everything goes well, he asks for my resume etc. Fast forward 3 weeks and I get a call from HR that they're recruiters would like to set up a time for an interview. We set up a time but.....there is no word about what I'm interviewing for. All I know is that I'll be speaking 2 members from their recruitment team.
How do I handle this situation and interview? Obviously, I'll be prepared for the fit questions, but I'm wondering a few things
A) Should I contact HR beforehand and ask if there is a specific position that I'm interviewing for
B) Should I be prepared to tell them what groups I'm interested in and why?
I just don't know how to handle this and quite honestly, I find it a bit odd that I'm interviewing without knowing what for.

This happens... as them about their 'business need'.
You are basically interviewing for a chance to get into the Analyst pool. It will be a traditional fit-style interview where they'll probably ask you what are you interested in (which groups, career interests, shit like that). If you want, you can e-mail HR and ask what this is for, but I'm pretty sure it is the aforementioned.
Prep for fit questions, know your story, career interests/motivations, etc.
Yeah I would just ask. It's probably the standard analyst pool but as long as you can ask the question in a kind, reasonably articulate way, there's no way that will reflect poorly on you. It could reflect poorly on you if you have no clue what you're interviewing for and they ask you why you're interested in some division when you're not prepared for it. So just ask - no big deal.
