How to hit the ground running as junior in Venture Capital?
In the new year I will be starting as a junior in a top tier VC fund (sorry to be so vague, but I hope you understand that the VC world is relatively small and I don't want to be recognised).
I was wondering if anyone had some tips on how to hit the ground running?
I didn't end up choosing IBD so don't have much modelling experience. Is this something I should brush up on? I've been told that my role will have an analytical component (e.g. proposing investments, testing the unit economics of later-stage investments etc.).
What publications should I get into the habit of reading daily?
When asked to research and suggest companies to invest in I found using frameworks very helpful. Should I do few practice case studies to be sharp before I start?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!!
Thanks!
