Should I go to Hult Business School?
I just got an offer from Hult, but no mention of fin aid as of yet.
I'm not too sure about their rep. I hear great things and then equally bad things.
Anyone with any insight?
Simply, am I likely to get a good IB position following graduation?
I applied for the SF campus and ideally will remain in the city following graduation.
Hult MBA Reputation and Ranking
Our users advise against going to Hult for your MBA due to its apparent lack of brand power. Our users highlight this as a problem since going to get your MBA is an exercise in branding.
I had to Google the school because I had never heard of it and I'm guessing many others did as well. If you're picking a business school for the sake of branding yourself, people not knowing said business school is typically not a good thing.I should also point out that I have lived in the Bay Area my whole life and work in San Francisco.
Business schools are immensely profitable enterprises, so I would just say buyer beware, particularly because business schools lack a real governing association like the ABA. Of course, some of the law school the ABA accredits are not exactly upstanding institutions either...If you want a brand name, either for a career change, promotion, or to raise capital more easily, stay away. I have not heard of this school, it is not affiliated with any established university, and it is new. Right or wrong, my first thought is "UPhoenix MBA?"
If they throw a full ride your way, and you aren't doing a MBA for branding, why not take it? It's 2 years opportunity cost, but, if they are covering living expenses, enjoy your vacation.
But if they want cash, do not do it. Besides, if you aren't doing a MBA for the brand, you shouldn't really do a MBA. Take courses at Cal or Stanford as a non-degree student. I guarantee you will learn more, and save money.
However, Hult International Business School ranks 55 on The Economist's list of MBA rankings.
You can read more about Hult on their website.

Take from that what you will.
Agreed with Nouveau Richie and turtles. Bay area native, never heard of it. I would proceed with immense caution; AACSB accreditation means little, but the fact that they sought membership yet lack accreditation says a lot.
This is effectively a 7 year old school; according to Wikipedia, they were bought out 2003 with only 26 students.
The company that bought them is a little sketchy in my opinion. Hult and some of their other subsidiaries are non-profits, but the holding company and other subs are not.

Sorry forgot to mention its not an MBA, I am applying for the Master in International Business. I have heard good things about this program hence the app.
the MIB is well regarded in some rankings but those are kinda subjective I guess.
their endless marketing e-mails usually end up in my spam folder. that should say enough-
Yea...I 'got into' this place too...
Catch is I never applied.
That should tell you something.
Same here. DO NOT go. Apply to a proper school that will actually be of benefit to your career.
The most fuck up business school I attend ever ! Totally regret for taking this one year program. The biggest remorse in my life.
You can't just leave us hanging here. I received tons of email marketing from this school, was never seriously interested, but still learned bits and pieces while scrolling down to 'unsubscribe.' Why has it been a total waste?
you attended the school? Could you elaborate more on the reasons why it is so bad?
I could not believe that they have incredible marketing team. 1 guy, 5 years exp, 3.8 GPA, 710 gmat were tempted to go for Hult MBA with 40% merit-base scholarship.
Yeah the power of marketing is incredible. B-school adcom in general are very good at this, and I think they have used hype to really sell the mba brand and experience. This applies to even top programs, not just crappy ones such as Hult.
Hult is a joke. But not for those who have invested their life savings or future earnings. Agree its the Most messed up bschool in the world. Incredible marketing and sales machine that fills classrooms with false promises. avoid hult mba
Hell no. Stay away from that school.
I just got accepted to Hult recently and I was more or less excited about it considering their international programs where you get to study in 3 different cities in one year. I also witnessed them from not being in the FT rankings to all of a sudden appearing on FT's top 60 in 2012, and top 50 this year. I agree they have a hardcore marketing team which might abuse your inbox, but nevertheless something tells me that Hult will be climbing up the ladder in the upcoming years.
"HultAlumni" & "Bilba" could you please elaborate more why you don't recommend it?
You got "accepted" the same way I got pre-approved for a capital one credit card with 43%APR.
Save your money.
You have to be accepted to that shit hole? I thought you just walk into class with a check in your hand.
On what websites is Hult ranked? I can't find any...
Just dont
Hey
I just got off the phone with one of their recruiters in Austria! It all seems pretty good, can you people who give negative feedback elaborate on the reasons. I don't wanna do a huge mistake about my future. Thanks.
You mean... Other than all those reasons we already listed?
The only reason I know about Hult is because they continuously spam you and call you. As a matter of fact, I got a call from them at work today.
I don't think it is a good school. I don't think anyone in their right minds want to get a degree unless you are getting the degree just for the sake of it. There are a lot of other business schools in every part of the world. Try and get in them.
If you want to go to a similar school I would recommend Thunderbird. Even though it is not prestigious or anything I still think it is ranked in the top 100 by US News.
Don't pay any attention to FT rankings; those are highly flawed.
Hi I am considering that college for a BBA course in London/san Francisco. Can you tell me if you went ahead with that college? if yes, how's it?
I applied to LSE, Imperial, Oxbridge, etc a couple of months ago and today got an email from Hult. I never had any contact with them nor have I applied or intended to apply to them but they wrote me how nice Hult Business School is and that I should apply. Seriously, what halfway decent business school mails prospective students so that they apply to the program?!

I was just contacted by Hult International about its Masters in International Business program. After doing some research about this school it looks like it is legit....Has any one ever heard of them and whats up with them?
You weren't deluged with email after taking the GMAT?
Hi yes I am an MBA graduate from Hult. It is a totally legit school. And actually the professors are very good.
Agree with the comments on spamming. I still get those emails and I am an alumnus! Wish they would stop.
Among others NYU Stern Business School and Columbia Business School. They contact everyone that signed up for the GMAT.
this is the first time i actually write about Hult after graduating, i was searching about #whatshouldwecallhult tumblr blog created by an alumni and come across this post, and i think i need to contribute a bit. I am a Hult Alumni and my one year in Hult is the most fun year during my study in US, i met many interesting and talented people from all around the world (wow, like even countries I have never heard of, pretty amazing), i didn't expect that because all the negative comments from people who don't know about the school. SF campus is a really new campus and it is not well known by everyone. Studying in Hult gave me real world working experience, in each module, school puts us in team of diverse students (nationalities, previous majors) and we work together day and night. we become closest friends and also discuss about our projects like professionals during meetings. I went to traditional University (top 80) in US, and many people come to Hult are from top schools all around the world (didn't expect that either). I feel that in Hult, i enjoy a lot more about studying than in my traditional university because of all the interactions that we need to have with classmates unlike traditional US university (take class and leave). P.S. I also made a skit for the Hult talent show and made fun of how aggressive Hult marketing is, everyone including the staff just laugh about it, we love the staff who work there! Hult SF is still trying to build up their network connection, but there are a lot of speakers coming from big companies, if you are talented enough, you can get a job easily, it's SF after all, many people choose to work outside of US. I miss there, working is so boring lol, life is too short to care about if people know about the name of your school, I enjoy it myself and i can always spend 10 seconds to practice my presentation skill and introduce my school =P

lol
It's the harvard of my email spam box.
Yes the school is legit. I am an MBA graduate from there. The school is actually very good, but drives me crazy with its emails. I still receieve them even though i am an alumnus!
I was just reading this morning that 90,000 people applied for an internship at MS, where they extended offers to 1,000. Goldman Sachs, 17,000 applied and 350 were picked up. Only a very small percentage make it into IB from the different top feeder schools.
As far as "Likely" goes, it isn't likely regardless of where you go. At best, "remotely possible" is a realistic view. No clue as to how Hult compares to Ross or Booth. But I wouldn't do any of these programs if IB is your only reason for going.
Wish you the best, I hope I don't come off as an asshole.
HULT Spam post GMAT Registration (Originally Posted: 11/30/2010)
Did anyone else get spammed like crazy by this HULT school of business after they registered for their GMAT? I have gotten no less than a billion emails from these people. I really wish the people that controlled the registration info would do a better job of securing it but I guess, in light of the Wikileaks nonsense, that's a bit too much to ask...rant over.
They called me and invited me to a mixer.
Like a 8th grade dance kind of thing...maybe ill be talking to them after all
There should be an unsubscribe link in all emails - if not, they are in violation of the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003
Ill send them an email notifying them of this....thanks Drex, you're a pal
pretty sure that was a troll.

Insight please?
Does anyone know?? In dire need of some knowledge
If I'm not mistaken (and I don't think I am) these people SPAM the FUCK out of you once you register for the GMAT, call you constantly, invite you to shit, etc. Not a great sign, IMO.

no
Hult is probably the shittest school in the whole world. I would not even employ someone from their if he paid me to do so.
why?
Avoid Hult! Sort of an MBA diploma mill imho
1, You haven't researched enough about your potential MBA investment 2, HULT is bad, just don't do it
Thats what I am doing man.
Why is Hult that bad? I mean they have a well known business competition. I know some alumni and they are making good money. Is it bad in general or for American employer, or what? Is it the kind of school that you don't even have to go to class and they mail you the diploma?
That's what you can expect here. This is a wall st career forum and I believe zero investment bank and mgt consulting firm and HF/PE/VC/AM do recruiting there.
Generally people on this forum tend to agree that most bschool after top 10 or 20 only have tiny value and after top 30 have almost no value, given their tuition are not that different.
Go onto GMAT Club and read about it for yourself. Or just become rich like your alumni buddies.
I'd stay away from Hult. Everything about them screams "PROFITS PLEASE!!!" I worked in their Head office in Sloane Square, London. The structure is as follows: huge telemarketing department split into countries - UK, Spain, Netherlands, France, etc. Telemarketing arguably their biggest department. Says alot.
They would hire an English speaker to deal with UK, a Spanish speaker to deal with Spain, etc. Each day, these 'Student recruiters' are issued an excel list thats drawn from the system pool. This system pool is accumulated through a variety of different sources, Google Adworks, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, etc. If you've entered the words 'MBA' into Google or signed up for GMAT, it is likely Hult has bought your details from one of these sources.
These recruiters work for 'interviews', which essentially means they cold call these lists all day every day, and use a script to entice you to book an 'interview' with a more senior recruiter. Its the classic 'foot in the door' technique. I worked there for over a year and I would wholeheartedly agree with comments that their marketing team are fantastic. They arrange high profile events in top london locations in order to attract students - probably because their MBA's are close to £50,000.
Recruiters are trained how to deal with queries relating to how they are either unranked or very low in the ranks.
If you've received a call or an offer, don't get too excited. Everyone gets an offer. Sorry to burst your excitement bubble peeps - having read the entire thread, i thought it would be useful to hear from someone who's worked in their head office.
No not at all likely.
I heard Goldmans and Google exclusively recruit from only Hult - the global business school
So go for it brah, you'll make bank.
Seriously though. This is America the competition is strong dude, Hult just doesn't cut it.
Is a scam bro be aware
This view stands to reason why Hult are so aggressive with marketing. I attended the QS Masters event in Athens the day before yesterday and just today a brochure of Hult came to me via the post - but I never asked for it! Needless to say, from what I read here, the programme is not even half as good as it sounds.
