I have a few questions about Financial Analysts
I was wondering if Financial Analysts were allowed to invest like everyone else or are there rules they must follow?
What kinds of Math do Financial Analysts need? What would you say is the absolute most important math to take in college?
Is it benifitial to get a dual major in Accounting and Finance degree or just a waste of time? What would you recomend instead?
is there any books you'd reccommend to aspiring finance major?
does the university you go to matter for a financial analyst, do you need to go to a prestigious university?
Corparate Finance vs Financial Engineering, what is the difference in Lifestyle and compensation?
Yes you're allowed to invest, although there will be so called "black-out" periods, which is basically quarter end and year end close, in which you're not supposed to trade the companies stock because it's assumed you're an insider.
Pretty basic math is used, general finance and accounting concepts are all you really need to know starting out and the company will teach you the rest. Every company does things differently.
Yes a dual degree is beneficial so you can get your CPA if that's something you're interested in.
