IMD

Hi guys,

So there's been a lot of talk about other European schools but very little on IMD. It was ranked 19th this year by the FT and seems to have a solid reputation within Europe.

I'd be interested to know what you all think about this School. From what I've seen, it has a low presence in Finance. A lot of its grads tend to go into Shipping, F500 or small, family-owned businesses. Average class size is about 90, with a heavy Asian presence.

If you have a chance try to get into a different business school. I don't know what your plans are for after graduation but try applying to LSE, INSEAD or maybe Oxbridge business schools.

Don't want to dick around, but this is just nosense. It looks to me that the OP is talking about MBA and IMD is way better thant Oxbridge and LSE doesn't even have an MBA. IMD is solid for consulting and F500. Banks do not recruit there but I think it is because of the small class that is not even focused on finance.

I'm grateful that I have two middle fingers, I only wish I had more.

LSE doesn't have a traditional MBA, but they do have an EMBA, which is actually a pretty interesting program. I don't quite think its applicable to the OP, but still inquiring to IMD is pretty close: http://www.lse.ac.uk/study/graduate/taughtProgrammes2013/TRIUMGlobalEMB…

I'm talking about liquid. Rich enough to have your own jet. Rich enough not to waste time. Fifty, a hundred million dollars, buddy. A player. Or nothing. See my Blog & AMA

IMD is probably one of the only MBAs in Europe that is solely aimed at older applicants. When you look at the people who enroll there (you can easily find their CV book online), you will see that they are all very much established and/or have a long track record of work experience in compairson with other programs.

This is almost like an Executive MBA but really isn't...

I think that they have the largest salary increase upon completion of the program.

Top MBA program for sure. I once met a guy who worked in a big 4 who went there and honestly, I was windblown by his presentation skills and his interesting stories. Everybody was listening to him with such passion. Whether or not IMD changed him, I don't know but it surely helped him.

Totally forgot about this thread. Thanks guys.

Well, I'll be slightly older than the traditional applicants and wanted to get a better insight into the School.

Not entirely sure of the industry I want to go into as I used to work in PB and possibly go into a F500 company in Corporate Strategy or Tax.
