Impact Investing

Currently working as a Public Finance IB Analyst and I am too far away from the change that I am financing than I anticipated. Due to this, I am considering the transition to Impact Investing where I can be more hand on with good that is being accomplished.

Anyone know what this recruiting process is like? Do I need to get an MBA or switch to corporate before I even try applying to an Impact PE shop or does my PubFin experience show enough of a story to make the move?

Any insight is much appreciated

"The bulk of 2015 investments ($7.2 billion) came from asset managers, who said they invested primarily on behalf of family offices and foundations. These limited partners said they preferred to make impact investments through managers due to their expertise and access to opportunities, as well as for the diversification and risk benefits of investing in a fund rather than investing directly." http://www.ai-cio.com/channel/ASSET-ALLOCATION/Impact-Investing-is--Thr… http://www.ai-cio.com/channel/ASSET-ALLOCATION/Impact-Investments-Surpa… http://www.institutionalinvestor.com/inside-edge/3577813/impact-investm…
