In need of of a reality check!
Hello Monkeys,
I am hoping for some guidance and advice based on my current experience and path.
My end goal is still undecided entirely, I would like to do consulting but also the lure of excel (excel is simply the greatest thing ever) driven IB has my attention.
Background:
Licensed Insurance Sales Rep with Allstate for a year.
Spring unpaid internship with a local middle market boutique bank.
Customer Service Rep at M&T Bank
Currently a Accounting intern with one company and a Summer Marketing Intern for another.
Education:
I am currently going into to my sophomore year with a community college but with a 4.0 GPA. I am hoping to transfer to NYU, UMich, or Cornell for Applied Economics or finance. (Went to CC because dead broke)
Extra stuff:
CEO of the CEO Club
Leadership Development Program
Math club
Random volunteering
Looking forward to your responses and thoughts!!
Thank you
CEO of the CEO club made me laugh out loud. Keep doing what you're doing; sounds like you've got good hustle. If you can transfer then you'll be in good shape.
NESCAC As CEO of the CEO Club I govern over the other CEOs during their daily CEO Duties.
But in all seriousness what i shouldve put up there is i am lacking in the networking sector. I've cold emailing a few consultants (Deloitteions..?) and have had zero response. Any tips on that area sir?
Not nearly as impressive as being President of the President's club
@Adapt" There was too many in the GOP running for me to break through to the title
To all : So is the consensus take it off my resume or could i just change my given title to Officer of the CEO Club? (Unless the name CEO Club is still too corny)
Remove CEO club. No one gives a shit about fake made up EC roles. Sounds like you are working very hard so keep it up and transfer when you can.
BuffaloBills96 I would take it off of your resume unless you can refer to it as something else, like leadership development club. Just curious, what exactly is this CEO club?
@Adapt" Basically small business club, last year we ran a snack company with out mascot name "Cougar Crunch" and sell it to different local schools for their lunch rooms ..etc. This year we will be buying a t shirt maker and figure out something for that (lots of other clubs to sell to..) Then we go to local conferences and stuff. Basically I said hey i'll run it then the teacher advisers said yes, now i run the projects and who does what and the finances of the club. Thus the CEO of the CEO Club was born.
Buying a t-shirt maker? Does your club buy existing businesses and then take them over...? Or does your club have a portfolio of equity in various small local businesses? You're going to need to explain this further because it's a little unclear.
For those that seem to be confused, this is likely a satirical post.
NESCAC Not nearly advanced as what your saying, think more of sweat shop small business. For the snack company we did, we bought bulk nuts , chocolate chips and yogurt balls and bagged them and put a label on it then sold it in bulk to the local pre-k, elementary, and middle/highschools. T-Shirt Maker we are doing is a t-shirt press which we are thinking we will make t-shirts for the other clubs and events (Fashion show..etc) we have here at the school. Each club has its own base funds that gets refunded every semester and the club can spend on whatever (Pizza for most clubs), we obviously have more funds because we have more of a inflow compared to the music club and other clubs..
FinanceGuy15 This is a serious post, however the is title a little over dramatized to get additional feedback. But the reason I am looking for feedback on my current situation is there is not many others around me to have a base line or anything (small town w/ low expectations), especially when your best friend from high school aspires to be a Gym Teacher....
