Inappropriate Threads and/or Comments - Report Them Here

thank you nychimp. This thread was a necessity and I'm glad that we can use it to make this forum a better and more informative place.

If I see any inappropriate behavior I will report it here and hopefully all other members will do the same.

Can we delete 2 of the 3 threads titled INTERVIEW WITH JANE STREET CAPITAL? If we are telling people to do a search for existing threads, it seems inappropriate for someone to post 3 of the same at the same time.

Can you warn member "gsmsml" about his inappropriate comments that are only intended to attack people. I feel people like him/her should be banned or given a three strike policy for inappropriate comments.

He had posted a comment saying that I had absolutely no chance at becoming an MD in IBD for no reason other than to attack me for his personal satisfaction This comment is found under the thread that I created titled, "For all those that did BB Asset Management Sophomore Year"

Yeah, I think this one has run it's course.

Deciding who gets banned, where to set the bar on offensive language, what level of name calling is inappropropriate is a difficult and full time job open to critisism no matter what decisions are ultimately made. nychimp you do a difficult and thankless task well.

I don't know your situation but other forms I have been on, particularly medical student forms, which run well have shared the work load with well chosen moderators. You would chose enough moderators to lessen your load and keep an eye on all the forms and posts. Then you discuss between the moderators what is out of line and when you have a consesnsus you act swiftly and forcefully, and its not open to debate anomg the general users.

The forms are good but they can be much better with dispasionate and reasoned moderators.
