Incoming IBD Analyst - Goldman Sachs - Thoughts on Paulus Hook?
Incoming analyst at Goldman, want to live alone since I'll have a lot of family and friends visiting me during my time. Looking for a studio (or 1 bedroom, if within my budget). After some research, decided on a $2,000/month budget (the lower the better).
It seemed like the Paulus Hook is a nice neighborhood, will save some on taxes and seemed pretty close to work. I was just wondering if there are some bankers who live in JC and their thoughts on the commute time, overall neighborhood etc.?
Any input will be highly appreciated! Thanks in advance.
Anyone? Any information will be appreciated! Thanks again!!
Spent a summer in Exchange Place. Really loved the area, morning commute was nice, got to see the sun rise over the Manhattan skyline, which never really gets old.
Transportation via ferry is expensive. It's about a five minute walk to the PATH train.
Not much to do in the area, although I presume if you wanted to go out you would go to Manhattan. 2k/month will get you a nice place. Aim to live along the waterfront.
Just as a side note, if you do go out you may need to take a cab back, as PATH trains aren't running super late night anymore I think.
Check out the 70 Greene Street apartments. Lived there last summer and it was pretty nice. Doing NYU dorms this summer though because it does get old living in Jersey.
