To my knowledge S&P>Moodys>Fitch as far as pay goes. Overall, ratings agencies don't seem to pay as well as BB or Boutiques as far as research & MO goes.
Middle Office - Low 50's Associate Analyst - Mid 50's + Bonus Analyst - 60-70s starting.
These are all estimates from talking to people.. take it w/ a grain of salt.
Bump. Interested as well
Associate Analyst-65K+bonus capped at 15% Analysts-VPs-250K avg MDs-500K-1MM
Interested in S&P, specifically, for Research Assistant. Pay, exit opps, interview difficulty, and overall insight on the experience. This is for full time.
Thanks!
Research assistant starting pay is 50-60, exit opps are to a bank, e.g. research, ratings agency advisory, sales (customized), 1 or 2 interview days (with 3-6 people depending on the sector). experience is phenomenal due to learning opps, contacts, transferable skill set.
Does anyone have an idea of what an associate would start at?
I just left a big three credit rating agency (significant other and I are moving to another coast), so my two cents on compensation:
It's all about lifestyle. Rating analysts work something like 40 hours per week. It's totally fine to roll in at 9 and stay until 5 or 6 most days. (But don't overdo it--people who leave at 5 almost always sit at their desks for lunch, and people who take two hour lunches almost always stay until 6 or 6:30.)
Associate analysts make anywhere from 60-90k. There are three levels of associate analysts, and the lowest level makes 60 to 65. The highest level makes 90k.
Analysts are usually between 32-36 years old. It's kind of creepy how much the age range is true. They almost all have Master's degrees. They make 110k. It takes at least three or four years to make it to Assistant Vice Presidents, who make around 150k all in. The Asst Vice Presidents have a comparatively huge workload, though.
