Infrastructure/Real Estate student advice

Hello all,

I am a French student doing an internship as a strategist assistant in London. This is my first real internship and after a month I m realizing that I am not a market driven person and real estate would suits me better.
I have almost read everything on this forum on infrastructure private equity/REPE however there is not that much information about infrastructure finance/private equity that s why I m starting this thread. (before asking I have read this post of course which helped me a lot http://www.wallstreetoasis.com/forums/overview-of…)
I would like to know which background would be the best for this kind of job (I m aware that IB guys will be in a good position for those jobs but what about audit or TS for example)?
What is a typical day in the life of an analyst/associate?
Do you often visit the assets you are working on?
Is there some internship opportunities in those funds?
Thanks a lot for your answers, have a nice day!
