interesting situtation - send thank you?

hi everyone,

just had an interview, and at the end I asked for a business card so i could follow up, and the interviewer said 'i don't have any with me actually, but we'll make our decisions and be in touch in the next couple weeks'.

typically, i send a snail mail thank you after an interview, and i was able to find both her email and snail mail addresses with the help of the googles, but do you think i should just leave it be since she seemed to specifically not want to give out her contact info?

btw, the interview seemed to go very well, so unless i'm quite mistaken i don't think she just didn't give it to me because she didn't think i was good

thanks for the advice

I personally don't give my card unless specifically asked. If I get a thank you email, then I usually just ignore it. I remember back in the day when I was interviewing, I'd always try to read into a response/vs. no response, and what the response meant. I don't respond just because I don't want to get anyones hopes up. If they're getting an offer, they'll hear from us shortly in any case. Looking back, I think most of the times I got a response to my thank you note, I usually didn't get an offer. Wondering what other people's take on this is.
