Interning at a new(er) boutique?
A little about my background.
I do not attend a target school. I spent 6 years in the military and now I've decided to switch over to finance. My one saving grace is that I do live in the Chicago-area.
So I sent out a few e-mails to HR's around the city (most prop firms) asking about internships. I received some good feedback and had a few interviews. My schedule this semester isn't the greatest for having an internship and they let me know that. Told me to keep in contact when I'm configuring my schedule next semester... anyways.
I was presented an opportunity by a boutique firm to get some time on their floor as an unpaid intern. They are working with my schedule and basically letting me pick my own hours. They are relatively new, but I figured I just need my foot in the door and it will help down the line.
Starting at the bottom rung anywhere I feel is a big boost to my resume and future. Any truth to this?
Yes.
