Interview Carousel - How many is too many?
Hey all,
I have recently been interviewing for a publicly traded company in their corporate finance division. At first I had 4 interviews in one division. Thinking I was going to get the job, I was given a call by HR to interview for another position in another division within Corp Fin while still being considered for the original position I applied for. I went through 3 interviews with the newest position and left feeling that I had a great shot..... Only to get a call again by HR saying that they went with someone else for both the position but there is another role you can interview for in a different division. Mind you, this is all still in the same group. I probably will be working closely with the people who told me to fuck off.
What am I to make of this? I know I should feel like I'm still in the running to get a job at this company, but when is it going to start negatively effecting me when I go into my fucking 11th interview? Mostly venting here, but has anyone been in this situation before?
How many rounds does it take till you get to the center of the...? (Originally Posted: 04/15/2010)
I had a 1st round interview, and then a 2nd round interview which was a super day. The head of recruiting said it was the final round. I then got a phone call later that week asking me to come in yet again to meet with the CEO and head of HR.
I have gone through 14 interviews already.
Is this yet another round or a possible offer in the office?
I've gone through with 12. 4 rounds.
I'm guessing this is some sort of tiebreaker between you and some other candidates? Get it done in overtime. Good luck.
