Interview follow-up email wait time
What do you guys think is the optimal amount of time to send a follow-up thank you email after interviewing? I definitely don't think the day-of, and the usual modus operandi is the day after.
What I'm wondering is maybe if it could be better to send it like two days after, so that they remember you better a few days from the interview date. Since usually they only huddle up after all the interviews are done and it leaves a more recent impression on them.
Is there a standard norm in banking in terms of the wait-time?
Certainly not the same day as your interview. I usually like to wait until two days after the interview for an email. In college, I sent hand-written thank you cards to the interviewer, though that obviously takes longer. Sometimes I would get an email back from the person thanking me for the card.
Anyone else
Standard is the evening-of. Same day.
Don't be too intense dude... the only thing I can advise to you
As long as it's not an hour or two after the interview, any time from the same evening to some time the next day is fine. It really doesn't matter as far as decisions are concerned. Only in rare instances will you have someone raise a stink because someone didn't send them a thank you email.
