Career Resources
I don't mean to be a dick, but this is a pretty straightforward assignment that should be doable for most junior associates in ER. Given you still have 4 days, it seems a bit premature to be throwing in the towel. If this is really too difficult, you may want to reconsider ER as a career.
If you have specific questions about how to think about forecasting specific line items, I imagine most of the community here, myself included, would be more willing to help.
Also, take it from someone who has been working longer than you, be wary of posting these things on public forums like this with a personally identifiable photo. Not only is it a distinct possibility that whatever firm you're interviewing with will be able to see your picture and know it's you; they can also tell from the half-completed excel file you've attached. I don't know if they said you could seek outside help, but if we saw this at any of the shops I've worked at, it would be an automatic ding.
Wouldn't be surprised to get monkey shit for this, but these are real concerns you need to be aware of.
I appreciate the concern and advice. I am very passionate about ER and I have been desperate to break into ER by any means necessary. I just wanted to do all that I could to get a job. Also, there was nothing straight forward about this assignment, I ran it by an MD in IBanking at UBS who wasn't of much assistance. I only had 48 hours to complete the assignment so I'm not sure where you got 4 days from. Again, I really do appreciate the advice and I will be sure to remember it before my next post.
