Adderall / Drug Test

I am starting my summer internship in a week, and had my drug test done last Friday. I was in the middle of exams when it was taken, and I am certain that Adderall will show up on the test. I brought my prescription to the drug testing facility and they said that the lab would just call if I tested positive for anything, before even talking to the employer. Then I would be able to explain and get them a copy of the prescription.

I got a call today that the test hadn't arrived at my employer's office yet, and I am freaking out. I haven't received any calls from the lab, and I have to start work in less than 1 week. Has anyone had any experience with this?

Pursuant to it being a legitimate perscription and you admited to ingesting it due to perscription as they ask, and can furnish the perscription, you are in the clear. I've never used LabCorp before, but I would assume they are just like everyone else, and no, your offer will not get rescinded on the basis that you tested positive for amphetamines provided you can provide the prescription for it.

Randomwalk, I have used Labcorp before. Heres what happens, they actually outsource the actual results to a third party or something like that. Labcorp claimed to have "lost" my sample and I had to track it down. I interned with UBS and my results were actually sent to a place in upstate NY called Dr.s Review Services. Something like that. If your with UBS and they use this third party outsourcing that could explain the delay. PM me if your with UBS and i can try to answer your question further.

Dude, relax. All they really care about is weed, anyway. And if you do test positive for methamphetamines, you just tell them you're on ADHD medication.

I never took a drug test for my summer, although I did take one for full-time, and I've been on Ritalin for years. Never heard anything after taking the drug test.

I'm surprised people are even required to do drug tests anyway. It never ceases to amaze me how many people I knew in finance and b-school who did coke and weed all the time anyway, and none of them stopped when they started working full-time again....
