Interviewed for a job that was posted in February - what to think?
Around a week ago I was contacted by a recruiter from a very large asset manager I submitted my resume to recently. The job I applied for was posted back in February of this year.
Yesterday I had a phone interview with the supervisor from the group, and I thought it went pretty well. I don't know what to think about the posting being so stale though, and if that will work in my favor regarding getting the job. Is it possible they just haven't found anyone they liked enough in 5 months of trying? I find it hard to believe that the firm couldn't find anybody that fit well enough after such a long time span. The only other alternative I can think of is that there hasn't really been much interest in the position, which I find hard to believe too. It's in compliance, which I'm currently doing now.
It might be that they posted it earlier but didn't need to actually hire until much later. It happens a lot to my team.
