Investment Banking/ Asset Management to MBB
Hi
Quick question on changing careers. I completed my M&A graduate programme and am now in an investing role at a pension fund, and want to move into consulting at MBB (general consulting as opposed to any specific department).
I would be applying for a experienced hire position, and as I have 5 years of work experience (but no MBA) , I would expect my resume/ cover letter to be viewed at the same requirement level of an MBA grad.
Does anyone have any views on whether this type of move is feasible, and whether above assumption is right? Any stories of others who have done this?
Was also looking for some help on targeting my CV to a more "consulting" format - eg for M&A roles it is geneally acceptable to have a "deal list' accompanying the CV as an appendix- would this be ok for a MBB CV? Any views on whether I sould specifically mention career change motives in the cover letter or concentrate more on transferrable skills?
Look forward to hearing from you guys!
