Investment Banking to MBA Feeder
Hey guys -
So I've been lucky enough to get a Summer Analyst offer at an M&A group at a bulge-bracket investment bank (think Credit Suisse/ Citi/ BAML). Eventually, I'd like to move into corporate strategy at a F500, preferably one in media (think Disney) after doing an MBA.
A few questions:
1) Is Citi/ CS/ BAML M&A strong enough to go to a top business school like Harvard, Stanford, Wharton, Booth after?
2) If the group isn't TMT, will I still be able to make the switch into working in corporate strategy at a media firm?
3) My big target is working for Disney's Corporate Strategy group. Do you know of any who've made the switch from banking to corporate strategy at a company like Disney between their junior summer and graduation?
Thanks!
Honestly right now, focus on maximizing your chances of getting a return offer. You can plan out the rest of your career once you've secured FT.
Thanks for the advice - I guess I need to chill out and gain perspective. Still, I suppose I was just trying to think two or three steps ahead.
Absolutely nothing wrong with that, but in the interest of having two or three steps planned out it'll be important to secure that first job. Good luck
Go check linkedin. I believe Disney does take undergrads for corporate strategy(looks like they mostly went to Harvard or did SA stints at Goldman). GL
