Is a low GMAT score a hindrance when trying to get into Consulting post-MBA?

I understand Consulting firms look at your gmat score and MBA GPA closely during recruiting. While I am getting my MBA from a Top 7 school, my GMAT score is only 660. Could my gmat score be an hindrance during my consulting interviews? Do you guys have any suggestions on how I can overcome this disadvantage?

Yes, it will be a hindrance. Your only option is to retake it. It's the easiest way for firms to assess your quantitative capacity, and if we're talking about internship, you won't even have your grades yet by the time of resume drop.

Agreed. I'd be surprised if you got a first round interview with that GMAT, barring some factor that makes you a scarce resource (female, diversity, big data background, olympic gold medal...). But even then, I still would be surprised.

Retake it (like I did). And don't bother doing the IR or AWA on your retake, only the Verbal and Quant score matters.

Do you have to list it though? Neither my GMAT or any GPA were listed on my resume (I also went to a bschool that have grade non-disclosure) and was invited to 2 out of 3 MBB for first round even though I didn't even apply. I don't have the exact number, but the vast majority of people who applied to MBB got at least a first round (and like 75% of my class applied to McK...)
