Is an MMS worse than an MBA?
I have applied to various MMS, MMF, and MBA programs for grad school. As far as MBA, I was accepted into a top 30 school as well as my undergrad school (non-target). For MMS, I was accepted into 4 top 20 programs (2 were in the top 10). I have yet to hear from my MMF.
Is it an MBA significantly better than an MMS? How would you rank any business Master's programs? Is it worth me to go with the MMS? Where should I draw the line? Does an MMS not encompass certain values that an MB will symbolize?
I really appreciate it guys...
Which 2 top 10 schools?
An MBA is obv. better unless it's an MBA from U. of Arizona vs an MS from Kellogg.
MMS: Columbia, Michigan, Duke, and Dartmouth
While it is not denoted as "MMS" for all four, I just classified them under Master's programs. That way I can differentiate MBA vs all other Master's
there is no masters program for finance at dartmouth
I know I did not apply for Dartmouth for an MMF, I applied for a masters in management. The schools I applied for MBA,MMF, and MMS are not the same schools.
dartmouth has no degree in management are you talking about the degree in engineering management?
if so, these are totally different academic fields
Oh I understand what you are saying: sorry about the confusion. The first program outside of MBAs I applied for was Duke MMS. Since there was not any definitive Master's program (other than MBA) at every school, I just classified every other Master's I applied to under MMS. I just want to know where to draw the line between how low ranking of an MBA is better than a random business Master's at a target school.
An MMS and an MBA are very different beasts, do you have W/E? If so how much and what quality?
