Is it possible for traders to enter into the VC space?
It seems to me that the VC space doesn't have as transparent of a hiring process compared to iBanking or Consulting, as someone that's interested in investment and the tech space in general, what's the future prospect of entering the Venture Capital business for me if I start out as a bulge bracket trader? If at all possible, does it have to be after business school? Does the product I trade matter? What can I do to prepare?
Thanks much!
Trading doesn't help much, if not all. The best VC route is to get start a successful business, or at least build some business development experience. Tristan Walker is a successful example without starting his own business first.
If you are a trader, consider getting into HF instead.
