Is it possible to get an internship after dropping out?
Hello,
After half a year of studying law at the LSE I decided it was not my thing and dropped out. Before returning to Uni next autumn I would like to get some working experience with an investment bank or a PE firm - preferably with something realted to M&A. Is it possible to land an internship while out of school? I'm currently sending out letters of interest to PE firms in London and Stockholm and have applied for a few summer internships with regional banks in Northern Europe.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Unless you have personal connections, I highly doubt it. Internships are usually very structured and even for unstructured internships, the fact that you dropped out and are yet to get any finance and accounting skills is going to preclude you from being even remotely useful.
Focus on getting back into a target uni and studying finance. Apply for internships through normal channels.
Thank you for the reply! I've already gotten an offer from my first choice Uni, so that part is already taken care off!
