Is it the end? - Final year of non-target school
Need help...seems like
I am in my final year of non target school.Could not get any SA this year.I know it would be hard for FT this year, no previous SAs and current market conditions .Hence decided to concentrate on SA 2009.Would the BB banks recruit for the SA if you are in the last year ie Senior year? I understand that junior year students are most likely candidates for SA. If i manage to get SA at the end of senior year, please give your opinions on my options:
-
If i am successful in converting the SA to FT class of next year, will the offer be extended immediately or will they take time for the entire recruiting season to decide? If they extend me the offer i can work for that 1 year at a MM or firm related to IB and join the FT analyst class the following year.
-
If they do not extend the FT offer immediately then how can i manage to attend the FT recruiting while carrying on my job? My school is non Target hence school will not play a role here.
-
If option (2) is not possible then i have to join masters program that i can get a valid student status wrt to firms to participate in the FT recruiting.
Sorry for the lengthy post.
Thanks

Try a business development role at a Fortune 500 company.
Their responsibilities are quite related to M&A...except that you are advising on your company's acquisitions/divestures.

i.e. IBM has its internal M&A department with 150 professionals. If you can't get banking, try one of those biz dev positions then lateral into an ibank or do your MBA and enter an ibank.
