Is it too late to jump into a BB firm?
I went to a target school, not Ivy, 3.4/4.0 Undergrad GPA in finance with study abroad experience for a second language. I was unable to obtain an internship with a BB firm so I decided to go for a "safer" route of accounting. I am currently going for my Master's in Accounting to obtain the 150 credits that will satisfy for the CPA. The Big 4 heavily recruit from my school, about 2-300 students/year go for leaderships, internships, and full time. Unfortunately, I don't think Public Accounting (audit) is the thing for me, so I interviewed for Tax. I had interviews with 3/4 Big 4 firms and second rounds for 2/4 I was unable to get any internships. I am currently working at a healthcare firm in their accounting department making decent money but it's just for random work experience.
So given that I'm almost 23, still have a strong interest in the financial field, what should I do? I am currently studying for the CFA to at least show that I'm serious about where I want to go despite the Master's in Accounting. I've always been interested in the Wealth Management field, but really willing to just start anywhere to get my foot in the door.
wow... you give up after getting rejected by GS? That was your first mistake.
