Is worth while to attend an investment conference to network and potentially find a job?
I'm a Canadian, in a finance graduate program part-time, unemployed since late last year.
There is some investment conference in Ohio, called RISE 13. The program director said she might be able to get me financial sponsorship to attend the conference. I am thinking of going to hope to network and potentially land a job.
Just wondering if anyone has been, knows anyone who has been and can tell me if this is worth going to and what to expect?
I have attended a lot of networking events in Canada, and usually the only people going are those who are job hunting. So I'm a bit cynical
Not sure if this is the right section to post in, but it seems to be the best choice.
