jdOasis.com Needs a Mom or Dad
hey guys, so jdOasis.com has been an orphan for a while as my team has turned 100% of our focus to improving WSO...it's been like that for over a year now.
So I wanted all of you to e-mail your JD / lawyer friends to see if they would be interested in taking over for JDO. we've had some offers for it in the past, but now I'm willing to sell it for cheap (relative to how much $ went into it), so it is the perfect turnkey option for a motivated entrepreneur (or someone thinking of making the leap) that is passionate about legal careers or just knows a lot about them.
Send me an e-mail at [email protected] with the following:
1. Why you are interested in taking it over
2. Offer price
3. Any questions you have for me
That's it! Also, please feel free to forward this thread to any friends you think would be interested.
Thanks and talk soon,
Patrick
Have you though of just giving up equity for a guy to run it? Might be easier than someone buying the full thing and retain some upside. I think it's a good concept, but I get the limited resources and focusing on your main concept.
I'm open to that, just haven't found the right person that can spend the time and energy needed to make it run.
yup, i have a lot on my plate improving WSO products and services over the next 12 months so I don't want it to just sit there for another 12 months with nothing happening...
couple questions:
can they be in school still? are you looking for a background comparable to yours (top UG, top grad, elite firms along the way)? do you see this as a side gig for a younger attorney or a full time startup-esque gig?
cheers
sure, they can be in school, but law school is notoriously difficult, so probably better if they are at least done with their first year
not necessarily. I would prefer to sell it to someone that has a strong background but I think it's more important that the person is passionate about helping people navigate the waters of legal careers...
It can either be a side-gig or a full time gig. I think initially it would be great for someone as a side-gig that they can put in consistently 20hrs per week on until it grows enough to bring in real ad and product revenue. Once that happens it can transition into a more full-time startup roll (if they want to follow what I did).
got it. one of my closest friends is a L3 (or is it 3L?) but he won't have the time (maybe 5 hours a week, not 20+). he's really into blogging, website design, he'd be perfect for it, but just doesn't have the time. stay in touch with me over LNKD or email (I think you have mine?) if down the road the situation ever changes, I'll be glad to introduce you to him.
Last front page post was 11/23/13......
? You mean about selling JDO?
No, I went to the site last night to check it out lol.
I'll take it for free, but we work out a deal where there are mutual endorsements for WSO and JDO, and ad revenue is split between us at some %/%.
The names are too similar, so I think they should be related products. Because if I take the time and resources to make it into an AbovetheLaw, then you're benefiting still.
PM if you want to work something out. Let's chat, Pat.
