Jefferies S&T Equities SA
What's the word on this group. I heard Jef has been stingy with giving full time offers in the past. I really like S&T but it sounds like this place doesn't give a good shot at a job after graduation.
In addition, culture? I don't mind about the hours or pay, but what's the vibe (besides the recent scandals)
is it your only/best offer? if so, take it
Not exactly. My other offer is from a small but prestigious talent agency firm (worked there this fall and they offered me a full-time offer if I come back this summer). Pay's not as good but it is creative work and the hours are good.
So it's a bit of a predicament.
not to be cliche, but i would say do what you love however, even if you go to JEF and don't get the FT, you'll still be positioned alright for FT recruiting

Whats up guys,
I landed a phone interview with Jefferies first round next month for sa s&t. Anyone know what they will ask? I got dinged boa ibd, ge fmp and ey tas already hoping not to get fucked again with questions like "what is your favorite class?" got a couple other interviews but i really think this place is it for me.thanks in advance.
S&t for fixed income?
I met with an md from FI who then forwarded my resume to HR. I was then contacted about the first round interview by HR but they did not specify. All they said was that they would be contacting me in the mid of Jan. I am guessing it would be fixed income but am not familiar with the process. would you know?
You didn't reply to my comment so I didn't know you had responded.
Have they contacted you yet?
They will reach out to me this week to schedule first round, had my contact reach out to hr to get an underatanding of the timeline.
How is Jefferies S&T? (Originally Posted: 02/21/2010)
How is Jefferies S&T? I go to a target and also have an outstanding offer from MS PWM. This is for a summer analyst position.
Depends what you want to do; if you want to do PWM, take MS... if you want to do S&T, take the Jefferies offer and maybe leverage that for FT recruiting if you want to join a BB.
yeah dont go there! college students will make fun of you!
look at the career path you want to do, and then choose. dumb kids will make fun of you..OH THE HORROR
is it possible to leverage a Jefferies S&T offer?
If you can go BB then go BB. If not Jefferies is fine. Don't listen to college kids or 3/4 of the people on this board. A job there is better than nothing. Besides, who the hell makes employment decisions because of what a bunch of 20 year old's think.
I don't have any BB S&T options. I have an option to join Morgan Stanley as part of their PWM
Do S&T at Jefferies.
S&T - don't listen to the Jefferies haters. It's a solid shop.
Just so you know, the guys with stars next to their username are certified posters with actual experience. I agree 100% with the above two posters.
It's difficult to realize now, but once you start working the name on the door is less important than what you do inside.
Yes, Jefferies S&T > MS PWM if you want to do S&T imo.
