Is it polite to ask during the interview what their AUM is? Fairly new family office. Besides allocation, should I ask anything else?

I've worked at a single family office as an investment analyst. They will most likely not tell you their AuM. I was not even told who's money it was they were managing. They will most likely not tell you about their asset allocation either, by the way. Ask questions about their investment philosophy and stuff like that, they're usually very secretive about numbers and hard facts.
Interviewed with a single family office and had a diff experience, they had no issue stating approximate AUM. You should be able to ask, it shouldn't be considered rude even if they decline to disclose.
