Job Market - Few articles about IBD on Bloomberg

There have been a few articles on Bloomberg recently about IBD (Credit Suisse, Barclay's) cutting jobs in response to the recent slowdown in the economy and capital market activity. Is anyone seeing hiring freezes or reduced headcount across the industry? Recently, I have noticed fewer open Investment Banking Analyst position available in Chicago.

Irrespective of people talking out of their asses and if the layoffs were front office or back office.

My questions were actually:

Are people that actually work for an Investment bank on a day to day basis seeing hiring pickup or slowdown? Is there a need to hire more employees at this time? What is the actual employment landscape for IBD for which you work?

Will IB begin to hire analysts from outside the industry or undergrads when they are done potching eachothers analysts?

Has dealflow picked up enough to warrant additional analyst?
