My friend had an interview with JP Morgan for an SA position and at the end of the interview they told everyone enthusiastically, "Make sure you have your phone on you, you'll get a call in a couple hours." Then, they didn't call anyone except the two kids they gave offers to. Imagine a bunch of ivy leaguers nervously sitting by their phone for 2 days!

Really? I doubt JPM set up a prank for juniors in college. Prob misunderstanding or HR relayed the wrong info (like they always do)
In retrospect I think PnL is right. There must have been a misunderstanding. They probably meant that those receiving offers would be called within the next 2 days.
I doubt it too that JPM would intentionally do such - must have been a misunderstanding in conveying the right message - though, if it did actually happen, it is pretty hilarious!
Yep. My buddy goes to Cornell and is one of the two that got the offer. I can confirm that they said "expect a call by 6 pm."
