Jumping Ship / "Experienced" Resume
Hey guys - I'm an analyst at a BB in banking. My background, group, experience is all a little (or very) non-traditional but for the moment shouldn't be relevant. If need be, I can dive into details later. Anyway, to cut to the chase...
Shit has sucked the last few weeks. Literally nothing to do. I may ride it out, but regardless it got me thinking about looking around and seeing what other gigs might be open. Before I can really start seriously searching, I obviously need to have my resume updated.... and that made me realize I don't know shit about what a resume should look like after 6-18 months of analyst life.
My structure coming out of undergrad was a quick summary of education (college, major, gpa, academic honors), followed by 2-3 work experiences, followed by 2-3 extracurriculars. Would you expect this to change dramatically? And how much stuff from college is acceptable? I figure having more than 5 bullet points for the current job would be excessive, which leaves a lot of room...
Search function didn't yield anything too helpful, so any contributions you might have to offer would be appreciated.
The advice I've been given is that the experience should be at the top, and education section is at the bottom.
Is it 6 months or 18 months... I think there is a big difference there... have you been staffed on a lot of live deals?
