Just Graduated - Resume Questions
1. I graduated with "High Distinction," whatever that means. Should I include it?
2. Should I write "Bachelor of Science, Finance" or "B.Sc. Finance?"
3. I transferred from a community college. My Overall GPA is 3.62 and Total Institution GPA is 3.75. Do I need to use the Overall? If so, do I round up, down, or leave it?
4. Should I include that I was in the Honors College? Does anyone care?
5. Should I include any pre-internship (I've had 3) employment? I was an optician before that.
6. Someone told me to put, "Financing 100% of education." Does anyone actually care? Seems pretentious.
Much appreciated
For #6, I'd put something about working xx amount of hours to pay for school under education. That's what I did and the people who reviewed my resume seemed to be receptive to it.
Do you have a job? Looking for one? Which function are you looking for if yes to the second question?
start networking outside of your school as well
Start applying now. Your job is to get a job, don't waste any time
That's not generally how it works. They collect resumes up until a deadline, then review all of them together. Waiting increases the chance of you rushing to complete multiple applications with a similar deadline, and doing a rush job of cover letters, etc.
